Kenya Golf Union to Hold Annual General Meeting on 24th May 2024
Nairobi, Kenya – 20th May 2024 – The Kenya Golf Union (KGU) is pleased to announce that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on 24th May 2024 at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club. The AGM, a key event in the KGU calendar, is held every year in May and brings together representatives from golf clubs across the country.
The agenda for this year’s AGM includes the following:
• Approval of previous minutes
• Chairman’s report
• Treasurer’s report
• Election of office bearers
• Special business from the KGU to revise the affiliation fees from KSh 3,000 to KSh 4,000
Nominations for Office Bearers:
The following individuals have been duly nominated for the respective positions:
• Chairman: David Ndung’u, Limuru Country Club (unopposed)
• Vice Chairman: Chris Kinuthia, Thika Sports Club (unopposed)
• Honorary Secretary:
• Brian Akun, Vet Lab Sports Club
• Frank Wambua, Golf Park Golf Club
• Honorary Treasurer: Karugu Macharia, Windsor Golf Club (unopposed)
Nominations for Executive Positions:
Only six executive positions are available, but the Union has received eleven nominations from various clubs. The nominees are as follows:
• Davis Mukuria, Kiambu Golf Club
• James Gitonga, Mombasa Golf Club
• Jonathan Marucha, Railway Golf Club
• Kevin Muchiri, Limuru Country Club
• Liban Roba, Karen Country Club
• Ndiga Kithae, Thika Greens Golf Resort
• Peter Mwaura, Ruiru Sports Club
• Robert Ngugi, Muthaiga Golf Club
• Sammy Itemere, Royal Nairobi Golf Club
• Taufiq Balala, Nyali Golf Club
• Weldon Mutai, Sigona Golf Club
The Kenya Golf Union looks forward to the participation of its members in this pivotal event. The AGM not only serves as a platform to discuss the progress and future direction of the Union but also as an opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in the Kenyan golfing community.
